Hi John,  it's a USAF bird circa 1959 with flourescent red nose and tail band.  Think I'm going to go with the lt ghost gray as close enough.  Aprreciate the reply.  Bob

Thanks Walt.  Believe you're right, the more I look at photos.  Don't know just what shade the gray is but Lt Ghost is probably close enough.  Bob

USAF Chickasaws were in Silver or a light Grey similar to Light Ghost Grey, I'd use their suggested colors here but apply a gloss coat. ADC Grey is a little too dark.

Color depends on which service and what time period used(USAF could be silver or gray), don't have the kit so I can't look for reference

Hi all.  I'm about to start a build on this kit and according to Italeri the color of the bird illustrated on the back of the box should be light ghost gray.  I'm thinking that may not be right for a couple of reasons.  First it was the early 50's when this chopper was used and was this color being used at this time.  Second every picture I have seen the color appears to be either a silver or aluminum or an aircraft gray to my eye.  So far I haven't come across much that tells me what the paint color was.  Anybody out there who can help me with this.  Thanks, Bob.
