Trumpeter Chinook sighting SPOT-report

It has hit the streets.  Has been sighted in local shops in South Africa.  Reportedly going for 950 SA currency (Dollars??), converts to about $155 USD.

At that price... wow...

I'd like one, but I'm never gonna afford something like that....

Is it just me, or did the pricing for this kit start at around $89 and keep escalating as we got closer to the release date?  Last I heard it would be $139.  $155 is ridiculous.

They're following the RAH-66, F-22 and F-35 price model. Guess that HH-47 will have to remain 1:72 for the forseeable future...

Mark.... Gino said; "Has been sighted in local shops in South Africa."

For that price, plus ALL the scratch building it's going to take to make just the fuselage accurate.... Angry [:(!] (end of sentence edited for ethical reasons)

I could probably get a lot better bang for the buck by purchasing a pet monkey ! Censored [censored]   (at least it will look like what it's suppose to be) Wink [;)]

Take care,

Frank

Howdy Frank!!

Yep!! Your right!!  somehow I missed that.Sign - Oops [#oops]

I just can't see it selling for that amount here. Maybe in a few retail shops here and there but we should be able to get a pretty fare price here in general.  Spruebrothers.com is offering it for $106.00 and Great models has it up for $112.00. Squadron was offering it for $112.96 but got greedy and raised the prise to $134.96!!  Shame!! Shame!!

Well, take care and enjoy!!

Who here wouldn't want a pet monkey and a semi to drive around the country getting into adventures and Censored [censored]!

Of course, it'd take a few delivery runs to pay for this kit.Sad [:(]

People!

Were talking about a 1/35 Hook here.... come on!

First never in our wildest dreams did we ever think that a Chinook would ever be done in 1/35 scale let alone a new and accurate 1/48 Hook.  Yes it has some problems but what kit doesn't?

I have been told by my local shop who buys direct from Horizon Dist who IS the Trumpeter link to the U.S. and the price should be around 125.00 to 130.00 ....though that price will very from shop to shop like usual and remember you keep seeing the SUGGESTED retail price not the actual.

Those WWII aircraft guys shell out much more for those 1/32 and 1/24 Trump kits and the Sci-Fi guys will spend 200.00 to 500.00 on resin or vinyl garage kits that usually have MAJOR problems!

I don't like spending big bucks on kits either.....and I will probably be selling some kits on ebay to get this Hook but 120.00 to 140.00 for this Hook kit is worth it to me.

Straighten up and fly right.....
