COOL!!  Maybe they are considering a CH47 line up as well?  I would like to see an option for the earlier CH-53's

Can't wait for this bad boy. I hope the cavernous interior gets some justice, though. Great to see MRC following up on their USMC phrog!

Don't know how likely that is; the 'E' model is a pretty unique beast. It has 3 engines, an additional rotor blade, and a larger, angled vert fin that differentiate it from all earlier models.

I'd love to see a 1/48 Chinook too. Much more appealing to me over any 1/35 scale offering.

DUDE! you mispelled Chinook!  Your off the island! Big Smile [:D]

Yes! and chances are that MRC would do a better Hook in 1/48 than Trump....Heck Trump can still make the corrections before they run the D model?

Fixed the Chinook spelling, sorry!

By the way, does anyone else think the new MRC "-53" boxart looks like the #2 engine is on fire??!

Yeah!!  I saw that.

But I think it is suppost to resemble something burning on the road below.

After I finally get both of these Trump Hooks I'll have to try and get me one of these badboys!!Big Smile [:D]

GREAT!

Now I'll have to get off my "six" and build something so I can buy one!  I sure hope they do the CH-47's next "go-a-round"!

Clear Left!

461 noooooooooooooooooooo.

I'm going to love the kit, but hopefully... I won't have to make my own decals.  Why mark it with HMH-461 when the premier squadron is the next flightline over.

I'm extatic to see this kit coming out.  A modern 1/48 CH-53E kit.  All other projects will end until I superdetail a CH-53E, with a few opened panels.  Maybe I'll add a ground crew turning wrenches and some GSE.  I'm ready to order it right now.

Now, I'm going to take some reference pics of the 1/1 version for the assistance of other builders.

Here's some pics of my 1/72 scale Italeri which I battled for 2 months.

Note the heavy weathering (leaks and dirt).

The Marine Corp Heavy lift community has gotten a little news this week.  The H-53 "X" has been discussed for a few years now, but now comes officially released news of the proposed CH-53K.  Officials are concerned that the current fleet of 53E's will be able to last until the 53K's are delivered around 2015.

Semper Fi,

Chris

Seriously, am I the only one willing to lose an appendage or two to get a 1/48 or 1/35 scale HH-3E, CH-3E, HH-3F?

Yeeeeeeeeeeessssssss,

I just made a deal with Sgt. Joe down in QA.   He's going to pay for the Acedemy 1/48 kit when I give him the 1/72 Scale Italeri finished model.  It'll feel bad giving the old one away, but I'll come out ahead.

I'm so excited,

Chris

Nope.  I feel exactly the same way.  I hope that we will see Green Giants in 1/35th real soon.

Looks like I know what I'll be spending some of my "bonus" money on when I get back from my latest excursion....

That'll look great on the shelf next to my Phrog...once I get that one built!

Great news, but what do I do with the old Revell HH-53C that my dad found on ebay for me?
A day in the Corps is like a day on the farm; every meal is a banquet, every paycheck a fortune, every formation a parade... The Marine Corps is a department of the Navy? Yeah...The Men's Department.

While I'd hope to have a say as to exactly which appendage I lose for a 1:48 Jolly Green, you're not the only one who wants a big CH/HH-3

Just mark it for HMM-261 or 162. They all work better when you go composite anyway! Wink [;)]

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one.
