Font for making decals.

I'm looking for the Helvetica Bold font file.  Anyone happen to have that?  I need it long enough to type my text in Adobe, adjust it and convert it to curves and I'm done.  5 minutes if that.

I could have sworn I had it but nada.  I think it was on my PC that dead.
Contact me via. email.

TIA
John

John,

Go to 1001 Free Fonts and you can download for free just about any font you need.  If they don't have it, try Googling "free fonts" and you will get a bunch of other sites that have free downloads as well.

Good luck.

Hi Gino,

Thanks for the reply.  I failed to mention that I didn't have any luck with that.  Every place I went to, Helvitica Bold of any style was a not available.  Thanks for the help!

How did those parts work for ya?  Any problems with the leaching?  The Super glue sealer worked well for me.  I actually ended up making some parts with the two part epoxy putty stick stuff you get from the hardware store.  It works well but the parts are heavier than the PU.

Good hearing from ya
Cheers,

Parts look great, haven't actually used them yet.  No leaching at all though.  I will be starting a UH-1V MedEvac for a customer soon.  I may use them on it.  I'll keep you posted.

John:

Helvetica was originally the copyrighted property of a German foundry (Stemple AG?  My spelling may be off a bit), and I believe Hewlett Packard now holds the rights.  And, you're probably right about once having had it, since it was originally bundled with many Microsoft products.  Last time I had it was about 2001, and I foolishly let it get away without copying it when Corporate upgraded my workstation.

You can purcahse an Helvetica fontset (usually about $30 - $50), but you may want to examine the very similar (and free) Ariel font to see if it will do what you need.  Also, (just a thought), if you are using Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw, you can convert text to curves, then manipulate it into anything you want.

Phil,

Thank you for that bit of information.  I thought so. I'm gonna check some of the old computers at work that are set aside.  Microsoft no longer has their free font downloads.

I'm still learning the Adobe.  I knew that in order not to lose the font when sending it to another client to upload or read, you convert it to curves.  It didn't dawn on me about manipulating.  My that was a bright light!  As Elvis would say.  "Thank ya, thank ya very much."

Cheers

John
