Must have CH47 BOOKS
Posted by Papa-Echo-64 on Thursday, February 9, 2006 10:04 PM

Attention all Hookers!

Most of you already know about these two books but if not... you really need to add these two to your avaition collection.

1.  The Aerofax Minigraph 27  Boeing Helicopters CH-47 Chinook by David Anderton and Jay Miller.

2. Squadrons #1091 CH-47 Chinook in action. ( which is LOADED with Guns a Go Go Hooks and the front cover has "Easy Money" on the front cover!

I have these two and a complete CH-47 Chinook maintenance manual on disc.

QUESTION: Is there any other 'must have' CH-47 books out there?

Straighten up and fly right.....

I've got the Aerofax book (Boeing was giving them out at the ceremony when the unit I was in was upgrading from Cs to Ds) and while it is a good refrence point, there are some minor inaccuracies in it, most notably with dates and places, concerning the 213th Avn Co.

Other than that, an excellent refrence source. The line drawing are pretty good and there is a good 3D view in 1/72nd in that book.

I have the same references you do and there isn't a question I couldn't find an answer for in the total substance they have.

The SRM (structural repair manual) and Parts Manuals would probably be the most useful. The SRM should be especially useful to locate station and waterline for the various stringers, formers and longerons.
