Yep, the 151st guys have been home for a bit now.  Buddy of mine in flight school is assigned to the 151st, and apparently they're keeping their grays for now.  As for the sand yellow ones, I haven't heard anything on recent ones.  If you've got pics, Andy, shoot some this way!  As far as I know, none of OUR AH-64s are painted sand yellow.  The Israeli Sarafs are primarily, but there are plenty of differences between a standard D and a Saraf.  I'm definitely intrigued!

By the way, the pic that Gino posted is 94-0332, the same bird in my sig and that's profiled in my book.  They were based out of Mosul, but I've had several guys tell me they were flying out of Balad as well.  Most likely they sent a team or possibly a platoon down to Anaconda for better mission coverage.

Guys have you heared about SAND Yellow Apache? One buddy of mine said there was one or two painted in yellow scheme - he promised to shoot me photo of it rolling into the Galaxy on Monday.

Also an interesting candidate for becoming a model)))))) I am kinda tired of OD scheme

Yup, those are the ones I am talking about at the bottom of my initial reply.  They are from SC ARNG, 1-151st Aviaton, TF Olympia, Mosul Iraq.  They should be heading home about now, if they haven't already.  You can see the SC Palm Tree on the engine cowl.  They are the only unit with grey Apaches.

Is it an A or D model?  As Gino said, markings for the Apache are pretty sparse.  If I knew which model, I might be able to give you a hand.

All active Army Apaches are painted Helo Drab Green.  Testor's has the color in their Model Master paints, in both acrylic and enamel paints.  Standard stencil decals are all black with a few in red and yellow, should all be in the kit.  To add some color, Two Bobs Aviation Graphics does a decal sheet with some colorful unit markings for 1/48th Apaches in OIF/OEF too.  http://www.twobobs.net/en-us/p_606.html  They are currently listed as sold out though.

For an interesting bird, a SC ARNG unit painted theirs in a two-tone USMC gray scheme for a recent deplyment to Iraq.  They were all A models.
