Decals are on the way.  Also, "Venom" was painted in a gunship grey color on the engine necelle of Super 64, not white.

Hey There

I have been working on these decals for a few hours or should i say days and i am very pleased with the way they are comming along!!!!

I have the completed background of white because i have heard that most inkjet printers dont print white so that would be a bonus as i am using clear decal paper.

I have only used the word "venom" because i am replicatting Super 64 so it has made it a lot easier to achieve what i have. So with it, the way it is now, saved to computer with the background white and the word "venom" drawn in a chalky/smokey color,,, i am hoping it will bloody work. Should be ready to print out tomoorow night!!........ I hope.

Anyway i sure will let ya both know what it turns out like and if i can get my camera to work i will put some pics up here for ya's.

Thanks

Robert

Oh, I see.

Yeah, might try the "transparent" version.
BTW I have been told that it might not work even with an ALPS printer. Some colors like olive drab turn out in spots, like magazines where you have small dark spots on the light base color. Sad [:(]

Good luck, but unless you do the stencilling in black, it will dissapper into the green paint.  Avus and I figured this out after many tries and wasted sheets of decal paper.  We had to do the surround and use white decal paper to make it work.  Normal printers do not put down a thick enough layer of ink, they remain semi-transparent and can not be seen on the dark color under them.  I have a file of one of our previous tries with stencils only and no surround if you want to give it a try.  Send me an email and I will send it back to you.  The stencilling on it is in green, if you print it out in B&W, you will have black stencilling.

For the overcoat, I would spray it with an airbrush.  Brushing it on can destroy the decals if you hit an area that has already been brushed, it can smear.  Never used the Microscale stuff, the cheap acrylic clearcote works for me.

Gino, The decals you guys sent are great. But i am trying to give the background a white look as i have clear Experts Choice Decla paper and also because i am painting my MH-60L in the Model Masters  U.S Army Helo Drab.

The Liquid Decal Film i will be coating over the printed decals is from Microscale. It says to brush it on with a wide brush but i also read to go with a airbrush instead?

Anyway Thanks Again

Robert has it already.  I sent it too him some time ago and resent a few weeks ago.  Think he is looking to make some of his own.

How about the whole decal set we made some time ago, HeavyArty.

wooty, I'll look through my files and if you give me your e-mail address I'll sent the jpeg-file ready to print.
This image has all the stencils for a black MH-60L. They are Olive Drab on black background so you'll have to print it on white decal paper and have the helo painted black.

Let me know.

This is the easy part.  Make sure the ink is good and dry first.  All you have to do is spray on some Acrylic Clear cote (I use Krylon Crystal Clear), has to be acrylic or it could eat the decal film.  Make sure you let it dry and don't touch them till dry.  They come out great.  Good luck.

Sorry, don't remember off hand.  I think about 20-24 is good.  What I do is print them onto regular paper first and compare the size with other decals to get it right, or just eyeball the size.

The font is Amarillo USAF and can be downloaded here for free.  I create lettering in either Word or Power Point.  For graphics, I use a combo of Power Point, Paint, Photo Shop, and any other graphics program that will work.  I found that I can create super small lettering, down to 2 point, in a Rugrats card and activities program for the kids.  It works great.  Good luck.

Gino,

I was wondering if anybody out there had the fonts for the "UNITED STATES ARMY" and also what computer program do you use to make your decals.

Bob,

What kind of help/info do you need?  As you know, I make my own decals all the time.
