Anyone of you guys finish one yet? I havent seen any good pics of a finished subject. Also is the CC upgrade a "must have" or is the kit decent in itself? I just havent seen much on the subject.

I have it in the to-do pile.  The kit itself is really good.  The biggest thing the CC set offers is more detail in the troop cabin.  It is missing a whole lot of detail on the walls.  The cockpit looks great to me straight OOB.  I have seen a few built up.  Here is Avus' mostly completed (minus main rotor) beauty.

I figured it was a good kit. The prices have been slowly heading south. The CC kit looked pretty extensive so it made me raise the question on the quality of the kit all by itself.

Avus.. great build. What did you use to mask the canopy? I couldnt help but notice. Great job. Even without the rotors!

First of all: Thanks for "quoting" me HeavyArty!Bow [bow]

Second: Thanks for the compliments to both of you! Bow [bow]

To be honest the helo still looks almost like that; I just added various doors and hatches and the missile and rocket launchers, i.e. rotor still missing, due to space restrictions: I can't display it in my case with the rotor on!!!!

When I did it neither Cobra's nor Eduard's nor Aber's aftermarket kits were available so I built this kit OOB and none the less I'm satisfied of how it turned out.
Adding one or more of these kits would only improve the quality of the model adding more detail.

For masking I always use small masking tape strips, for the contour and Humbrol's Maskol to fill the remaining area. Still sometimes I have to touch up with a tiny brush.

That bird is GINORMOUS!  Beautiful work, Avus.  Just how big is it with the rotors on?

I think I'd have to just stay deployed if I bought one of those and put it next to my still in the box 1/48 Bone and all the other 1/35 helos I've collected but have yet to build!  There wouldn't be any room in the house for me.

Yes, I have finished one.  Have a look on the HeliKitNews site and go to gallery under my name you should find a tiger scheme Hind in 1/35.  Built before the aftermarket chaps produced the update sets, there was a lot of scratchbuilding in the cockpit, rear cabin, undercarriage and rotor hubs to add the missing detail. Hope you like it.
