You did a good job on the tail boom weathering as well as the rest of it.  Looks like a well used Huey except for the blades.   They could have used a little weathering on the leading edges.  Good job overall!

Hi Roadkill,

I used some cheap green acrylic paint from a tube called "viridian hue" (that's what it says on the front). If you look up close you can see the brush stokes, but it does the job. The rest of the Huey was done in tamiya OD which came out darker than expected and finished in Klear and then Tamiya flat and Klear over which I applied Mig smoke and VietNam earth pigments. Decals were applied with Klear as well and went on quite easily. I had to leave out quite a few as they were so small and the instructios on where to place them were ambiguous to say the least. Overall, I really enjoyed making this and learning as I went along, which is the most important thing.

Revell 1/48 huey hog pics
Posted by richgb on Sunday, March 12, 2006 7:55 AM

     Hi fellas,

Some pics of my 1/48 huey Hog from Revell. It's only the 3rd model i've made since coming back to the hobby last year. There are no model clubs around near me to get any feedback from to see if I'm heading in the right direction so please feel free to leave any comments tips etc.

Thanks,  Rich
