Fantastic story Don. When I lived in California, each Sunday morning a Coast Guard H-65 would buzz our little community, and I mean buzz. The pilot must have been a reserve pilot who only got to fly on Sunday mornings and wanted to show off to his friends. That Dolphin had the most beautiful sound too. Your comment about the Trumpeter kit ... what needs to be done to it to make it authentic USCC? I have the kit and am anxious to build it.
Cheers,
Flying Kangaroo

(Stepping to the soapbox. . .)
Why? Because for 96% of my career in The US Coast Guard, I spent it as a Flight mechanic on 2 different Coast Guard Helicopters, and worked on every type of the the others we had.
The last 4% was spent jumping OUT of CG helicopters, which was fun while it lasted.
Sadly in ANY scale there are few USCG helicopters. I have several Revell, ex-Matchbox 365N Dauphin kits you can convert to the HH65. And of course Trumpeter's version of the 365N which needs some modification to represent the HH65 as well.
Hopefully, with the puplication of the pictorial History of the USCG HH52A we can convince manufacturers to give us a model of this work horse. (100 knots full speed in a dive, but it could land on the water more than once).
Okay, I'm stepping off the box now. Swimmers away.

You maybe right, Navy types are not the best!
I guess its because all that I have done were Navy choppers (Sea Hawks and the likes)
Why is it not the best Don? Which would you suggest? Im all on 1/72 scale models.
