More Osprey Problems
Posted by ridleusmc on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 5:36 PM

A couple of my buddies saw this happen.  Scroll down to the article titled "Osprey Engine Malfunction."  I saw the end result, which wasn't pretty.  However, nobody was hurt.

Yep, it's a good A/C, safe too. The Marine Corps needs this Great A/C to replace the old CH-46E's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank God we did not get any more Marine's killed in that P.O.S. V-22 Deathsprey. PHROGS FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Machines can be fixed.  Marine lives lost cannot.  Good to hear the crews working on this one avoided injury.  Sounds like any number of things could have caused something like this to happen.  Not being an aviator myself (my knuckles drag when I walk), I will say that the -46's were reaching the end of their useful life.  Time will tell if the V-22 is the right tool for the job or not.
A day in the Corps is like a day on the farm; every meal is a banquet, every paycheck a fortune, every formation a parade... The Marine Corps is a department of the Navy? Yeah...The Men's Department.

Osprey dive into the water right?  Maybe they should have picked a better name, one that climbed instead of dived!  And you thought helicopters were complicated!  Then came the Osprey!
