There was one a while back where the builder made up the frame of an H13 from brass stock. . .

Don

I know it's only rock and roll, but I like it.

I'd have to browse through my back issues, but seems FSM did an issue devoted to the Vietnam Era and that might have had some good info in it.  At work so can't check it out until mid next week.  I liked the Issue with our Shark "Easy Rider" on the front cover.

It was the April 2003 Issue of FSM.  Shark mouthed UH-1C on the cover, can't miss it!   Type in UH-1C in the Search box of the Article Section and it will come up along with another issue that has the 1/35th Kit Work Bench Reviews in 1995.  I'm going back and check out some Extra Online Articles about Vietan era models.

Unknownpharoah,

I'm thinning out some collections and I have the last 90 or so issues of FSM, plus several years of Great Scale Modeling and some Kalmbach How-To books.  Since you are the closest FSM member I know of, they are yours for the askin' if you want them.  Just tell me when and where to meet you and I'll box 'em up.

This is the May 1998 FSM. The level of detail in this build still astounds me. Truly a great helicopter build article. Also, I beleive that this is the only issue I have with a helicopter on the cover! Sad, isn't it?

I think there may have been a FSM a few years ago with a Desert Storm 1/35 AH-1W on the cover and an article on how to do a wash. Pete Brown

Guys,

I had a few minutes to browse through the Articles listed on FSM on Helicopters, quite a few, and found 4 Issues with Helicopter covers, and one with a small insert at top.  Sea King made it twice and the Cobra's never did!  What's up with that!  Any bets on a Chinook making it soon?

COVERS

Nov 1991  MH-53J Pave Low

Sep  1993 SH-3H  Sea King

May 1998 SH-3H  Super Sea King

April 2003 UH-1C  Gunship (174th AHC Shark "Easy Rider")

INSERT

July 2001 UH-60L  Black Hawk
