I'm doing the same project, though I got lucky and got an HH-53C kit off of eBay. When I get home I'll scan the decals that came with it and post 'em here so you can gauge the size of the markings and pull from your scraps.

As for tail numbers, check out the MH-53 Pave Low site for some tail number history.

Print out this attachment and use it for size matching:

69-5784: Currently in service with the 21st SOS at RAF Mildenhall, UK as an MH-53

Paint Scheme:
Here's the MH-53 Euro 1 from TO 1-1-4 but it's an offshoot of the colors the HH-53 wore
- replace the 36118 Gray with 30219 Brown
- replace 34092 Green with 34079 Green
- the undersides are finished in 36622 Light Gray

I'm fairly certain that that will work, but as luck would have it, my copy of TO 1-1-4 is at work, so it'll be tomorrow before I can pull the HH-53 pages to double check. Sorry for the runaround.

SuperScale used to have a sheet of decals for USAF H-53s and my copy of 48-223 is on the way (I worked out a trade with someone), but I'm told it's markings are for a CH-53C in Euro I, circa 1982 and a HH-53C (lt. gray over med. gray)circa 1980 at Hickham (hi-vis markings???). Soon as it arrives, I'll post a preview of that sheet once it arrives.

Okay, I was right about Euro 1 and SEA having the same pattern, but I'm going to keep the Euro 1 TO up in case anyone's interested, but I'll add some other HH-53 color scheme info

First up, the SEA Scheme:

Trigger,

That is some out-freakin-standing reference info. I'll save it and put it into the archives for a future project Thumbs Up [tup]

Okay, got my CH-53C decals today and here are scans of the guides:

If you can get your hands on 48-223, then some of the stencils will be helpful, but you'll need to raid your spares for national insignia amd tail numbers
