I have also seen this kit released by Revell-Germany recently. Check the Roll models.com web site. Looked there a few weeks ago and it was selling for $31.00. Hope this helps.

I had the Revell 1/48 CH-53 kit when I was a kid, the packaging said it was a G variant, it came with US Marine and German army decal options. That was in the mid 1980's.

In the mid 1990's I saw a 1/48 CH-53 in Revell Germany packaging on a store shelf, the box art depicted a German army variant in overall white with UN markings on it. I suspect it was a reissue of the same kit.

If you find the old Revell release of it just be aware that the fit could be better and the rotor hub area is substantially simplified in detail. You'll have your work cut out for you.

I haven't seen it advertised for a while, but I suspect if you did a search you would find some companies listing the kit.

on ebay, I found
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3140852448&category=2587
and
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3141755332&category=2587

The first one is in the right price range right at the moment (about what I paid for both of mine sometime ago)

Revell was the only company that I know of that produced a h-53 @ 48th. I am sure that a conversion to a ch-53 would not be too difficult
