S-56 Mojave/Deuce
Posted by DBFSS385 on Thursday, May 4, 2006 6:39 AM
I thought I read some time ago that Italiari was kitting the Mojave in 1/72.. Maybe it was wishful thinking. But it would be nice if someone did do a model of the important Helo. I also seem to remember several years back FSM doing a story on the build up of a  Vacu form or scratch built S-56 that was really nice. I live in CT and have fond memories of these birds chopping overhead from time to time. They also served in RVN as heavy lift in the early years..

Long overlooked, needs to be made into a kit, would prefer 1/48th. Remember them being used in Korea until replaced by Chinooks in 1969.

I agree, someone should make one.   It's the original heavy lifter.

I am from Stratford,, where these were built and tested as you know... and yes we need that kit. that would be  # its ..  Radial and lots of drive shafts... My oldest brother has been at Sikorsky for 20,something years.. I should see if he can find any info or pics of that sucker at the office. I went on a walk threw with him about 7 years ago and was suprised at the lack of desk top models in the offices.I have built him a s-70 and an R-4 for his office. By the way I have that article some where ,,, I am going to look for it,, It was a killer build... Lots of detail... ok take care ................

just a note about the airmodel vacuuform ch-37, ARRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!!!

i have kit bashed one of these to give to my father for a gift and it was a long drawn out process. well worth the look on my dads face when i gave it to him, but man, is this how we do things in the 21st century???? cutting, trimming, sanding, eyeballing, sanding again, gluing, robbing other models for details, filler, sanding, more gluing, etc.............................

there was supposed to be a kit out by mpm maodels this year and still we are waiting....and waiting and waiting, it would be a great helo model to have............................................... good luck
