Oh man Don,
Wish I had noticed the flyer with the $17.99!!!!! I just bought the Mi-4 from them at about half price and it's a great kit but I've had no experience with Fonderie. I've had a problem getting my flyers from Squadron before they expired ... and I noted on the last one they had put a notice asking for complaints and saying the post office is the problem. I don't doubt that at all. Anyway, I've got enough kits to keep me busy .. I think I'll wait for a cheaper price.
Thanks,
Paul

I have seen the same kit for $17.99 in a past flyer from Squadron.
I didn't get it then, but would be tempted to do so now, especially after I paid $17.95 for a 1/72 scale Paisaki HUP2 from INTEX a Ukrain company.
Not a bad kit over all, just different . . .

I know it's only rock and roll, but I like it.

Don,
Squadron has the R-5 for 29.95 in their August flyer. That's why I was asking about everyone's experience with it. Based on your and Wibhi2's experience, I may wait for a better deal. I don't mind working a kit if it's of a hard to find helicopter in a larger scale.
Thanks ...

I had a real rough time with that kit and it ended up in the circular file due to my frustration. canopy was too big, cockpit didn't fit, and so on.

With that said, knowing what I know now I am reconsidering on attempting it again.
3d modelling is an option a true mental excercise in frusrtation

My experience with Fondrie is not good.
Let me qualify that, if you want to WORK on making it a good model and not just have it fall together, you might like it.
You must ask yourself if you have the patience to work with a "rough" kit, the desire to have it and the wallet to afford it.
Myself, if I could find one for $30, I might snap it up!

I'm considering buying the Fonderie kit of the Sikorsky R-5 and I wanted some feedback before laying out the bucks. Is it a good kit? Is it worth $30?
Thanks,
Paul
