Howdy gang!

Been busy, hit hard time recently.....was laid off almost two months ago....wasn't fun and recieving unemployment these days really stinks....you gotta attend these classes, meetings, sign in EVERYDAY and Oh the paper work for a crummy 400.00 a week!

BUT!...... I GOT A KILLER JOB!!!!!!

Some of you may have heard of A.O.G TANK TIGERS......Aircraft Fuel Maintenance.

I will be servicing both Cival commercial and Military aircraft...after three months I will need an updated Passport because at last notice I may be required to fly to South America, Hawaii or Alaska for field repairs.

For me its a dream job come true.... Huge hangers, all kinds a aircraft, less than 15 minutes from my home.

Great news on the CH53.....Nice kit!!

Glad your doing better Mark!

That is great news.  I'm glad to hear that, I wish you the best.  Nothing like doing your dream job.  I can't wait until I can make the same post here!

Keep in mind Don that the cost of living is outragious here in Seattle and most fast food workers make 7.00 to 9.00 an hour.

I'm use to about 550.00 a week take home.....its not much and now I'm going to be making less but it will be worth it in the long run!

After 18 months I will be FAA certified for inspection on most of these tanks:

Boeing Embraer McDonnell Douglas
  • B707
  • KC135
  • B727
  • B737
  • B747
  • B757
  • B767
  • EMB120
  • EMB145
  • DC8
  • DC9
  • C9-A
  • C9-B
  • DC10
  • KC10
  • MD80
  • MD90
  • MD11
Fokker Airbus Saab
  • F-100
  • A300
  • A310
  • A320
  • A340
  • 340
Lockheed Fairchild
  • L1011

The cost of living isn't any cheaper here in the resort community either.
The saying is "a view of the bay is worth half the pay."
Luckily both my wife and I work.

Hey guys....just an update.

Outside one of the hangers I work in is an B-52 waiting for restoration to be displayed at the Boeing Museum of Flight here in Seattle, there is also a bronco and few old Hueys....gotta love it!

My new job just rocks!   Finally after one week of paper work and classroom time on just how to do the paper workZzz [zzz] on different Air Lines, policies and procedures I was out on the floor today removing panels and testing for fuel leaks.....when I said I like the smell of jet fuel one guy said "He'll fit in"  The guys on the team are really cool and friendly which helps a lot when your the new guy.

As a child I use to go to this same field in the seventies when they had HUGE air shows....in one day you would see the Blues Angels, Thunderbirds, Hook teams show lifting and transport maneuvers, WWII fly-by's etc etc......One year I saw Bob Hoover fly that yellow P-51....a display of flight that I will never forget..... that same day two U.S. Marine Harrier's did a show and at the end they both hovered facing the crowd and bowed the noses of the aircraft towards the us and took off....man that was cool!

Man I've died and gone to heaven!
