Fujimi AH-1G Black Bunny
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, June 18, 2006 3:12 PM

Greeting fellow rotorheads!

Im new here, so bear with me if this has been asked before!

My question is concerning the Fujimi AH-1G Black Bunny kit, 1/48 scale.  Has anyone ever built or had experience with this kit before?  Is it fairly accurate/detailed?  Also, is it molded in light gray?

Any info you can supply me would be greatly appreciated!  Thanx in advance!

I've only bought two Fujimi kits but they've both been terrible.  I bought their 1/48 Black Bunny Huey just for the decals, and was not at all impressed with the kit so I used it just to practice airbrushing.  I bought a 1/72 scale F8 Crusader for $5.00 in the clearance section of my LHS just to throw together in an afternoon and hang from the ceiling; the detail, especially rivet size, was laughable.

Oh, yeah, both were light gray plastic.

From what I remember the original AH-1G by Fujimi was actually the prototype bird.  The later AH-1J's and AH-1S were different and better molds.  I was going to take the J's canopy and put it on the S airframe to make a good G.  I have a couple kits of each.

Clear Left!

I agree with Mel about the Fujimi AH-1G, don't waste your money on it. At prresent the only way to get a G model is to combine the J and S like Mel suggests, it will be close but not 100%, need to check references real good
