No big.  Thanks for all the info.  When ever I get around to it I'll put the pics up.

Ooops!  I guess I should have known who that was!  I'm so stressed at work I have "tunnel vision" syndrom!   Good luck on your "twin huey" build.  I'm just to durn particlar since I crewed them and worked on them for 10 years.  Thank goodness MRC/Academy came through with a good "Charlie" model and in my Unit marking to boot.  The Sharks of the 174th AHC.  We "stood down" when I was next in line for becoming a Shark Crew Chief.

Thanks Mel, the name's Brian BTW.Smile [:)]  DAVID VOSS is the man that makes this place happen.  I think I'll remove that stuff from my sig since they put a stop to all the DAVID VOSS stuff.

David,

The panel lines are overdone as well as the rivets.  The transmission is just a "blob" as well as the control tubes.  The main rotor mast with the rotating ring, scissors and head assy are crude.  When and if I ever do the Panda "H" model I will sacrifice an MRC UH-1C for the transmission and plylon assy as well as the main rotor mast and stabilizer bar.  Probably will use the seats and instrument panel.  I'll buy the Cobra Company "upgrades" for it as well.  I feel the nose isn't quite right on the "N", reminds me more of a Lynx.  I will probably get one if I find a good deal.  I really "hate" even looking the Panda "D/H" after seeing what MRC/Academy can do!

Mel, it seems that the N is what I'm going to be getting into.  What about the Panda kit needs work?

I'm preparing to do a series of builds for my father.  He has thousand's of slides from when he was in the Navy.  I want to build LST-1193, an LVTP-7, M-60A1, a SeaKnight, and a dio of a UH-1__ lifting a M-151 off the stern of his LST.  All from Amph Exer's of Sardinia, late 1970's.  I just need to look at the slides again to see if it was the D or the N.  I am leaning towards the N.

Panda makes the UH-1N the twin engine variant of the D or H.   The N is what the Marines flew.  The Panda kits requires a lot of work and some aftermarket accessories available from the Cobra Company.  Good luck!

So they are just the Gunships.Sad [:(]  Oh well, I was thinking about building a Huey such as the Marines would have used in the late '70's.

They are the best 1/35th Hueys on the market; too bad they only make the C model and not the U, H, or N.  For those you have to use an old 1/32 Revell or the newer Panda versions (which I hear are terrible; the rivets are waaaay too big and I hear the fit is poor (I have two but haven't put either one together yet).

They all have errors but the detail and what you get for the $$ MRC is the best.  Some have pilot, co-pilot, and gunner figures.  And I think some (if not all) versions of the MRC kits come with all the weapons to make all the other versions no matter what version is on the box art, just the decals and whether or not figures are included differ.

I think I remember MRC came out with some UH-1s about 9 or 10 years ago.  Does anyone have anything to say about them?
