You mean the HH-3F, the USAF Sikorsky plane. The HH52A (The one that resembles the USN SH3), hasn't been kitted for a long time.

Luckily you can find USCG helo's as the HH-19 and HO3(4)S still around.

As for the decals, Good Luck! The old 1/72nd scale Micro Scale sheet was the last one made that included several CG air stations, some even still active today. But again, that was  a long time ago.

the sh-3h was flown by the navy and the coast guard for a number of years i think '60's 70's but it's the one that has the pontoons outside not connected to the fuselage.but if there is a 1/72 scale with the decals i can blow them up to the right size, thanks for the info

You're confusing the Sikorsky S-62, (USCG HH52A), the worlds first amphibian helicopter and single engine, with the US Navy version with two engines. They look similar but the Navy one, besides the two engines, is bigger and the cabin door is further back. The USCG never had the SH3 in the inventory.  There is a company that makes a set of decals in a conversion set for the SH60B to HH60J but I believe they are 1/48th scale.

Revell of Germany makes the SA365N, a poor imitation of the HH65A, this one does come with VERY basic USCG decals and is in 1/72nd scale.

I did a Google Image search, and I found this website which looks promising.

http://uscgaviationhistory.aoptero.org/history02.html

There are some good pics there.

I've also seen an Academy 1/35 kit for a USCG HTL-4 with Floats.

The problem comes from the lack of USCG models available. Aurora had a 1/72nd scale HH3F, but that company has gone the way of the dodo decades ago. Then there is the problem of accuracy. The only helicopter made for the USCG was the Aerospatiale 366G and only 96 airframes were made. The others were tag alongs to USAF or USN contracts or acceptance of "overage" airframes from the same. So there isn't a big USCG model kit inventory to work with.

An decent looking HH52 can be bashed from a 1/72nd scale SH2 or Sea King kit (Airfix makes one, and the price is right so you don't feel bad about cutting it up). Tail and main rotor heads can be kit bashed from the Revell H19 kit (These were the same on the HH52A anyway). Remove one inch of plastic from the fuselage, check your cut to be sure the rear part will mate well with the front after, cut open the new cabin door and there you are. The sponsons attached with a solid piece of plastic, and too many other picky points aside, you can have the lookof a 52 in the inventory. As for decals. . .
