Hey Marko,

If you're talking about Academy's new 1/48 scale CH-53E kit, then no.  There are no detail kits for that kit that I know about.  I'd imagine that the first detail kits for that model start coming out in the next 3 months or so.  However, I've seen aftermarket kits and accessories for Revell of Germany's 1/48 CH-53G.

I'm not much of a scratch builder, but a few simple little modifications/fabrications can add alot of detail to the model.  I have a thread on this forum going which illustrates a few of the modifications I've done to Academy's kit.  Here's the link.

You can also check out my photobucket page for CH-53E reference pics, and more pictures of the work I've done on Academy's kit.

Good luck and Happy Modeling,

Hi Chris,

thanks, yes I meant academy kit. Your progress looks really good, and makes me wanna continue mine, cause it is on hold at the moment. Nice reference pictures too. Are those all of your models in your album?
I was a bit disapointed with kit when I first saw it but if You wanna build CH-53E there is really no choice. There are just too many pin marks on visible places for today standards, and lack of any detail like rivets or similar so I decide to make them and that is where I stoped. I'll include few pictures of my latest progress.
Thanks,
Marko

Marko, that rivet detail is amazing! Please tell or show us how you accomplished it.

It is very easy to use, one of the most efective tools I have.

That is some beautiful rivet detail!  Amazing.  I'll be looking up some of those tools, looks like a must-have addition to my tool box.

You've got a great start going there, I'll be looking for more as you progress.

Hi,
As far as I know you can not buy it in US, I know some people who order it from Petr,
http://www.largescaleplanes.com/reviews/NonKit/DOUSEK/riveter/riveter.html
Find Petr's e-mail at the bottom to ask him for details.
I bought 1/32, 1/72-1/48 and one pure 1/48
