Neat stuff!  The "53" makes me want to drag out the old Revell CH-53 I started making all the interior formers for to make a "Jolly Green".  Now I have the CH-53E to "play" with too.  I should just go ahead and buy resin upgrades from Chris and be done with it.  I've got a second Revell kit to make an MH-53 one of these years.

Clear Left!

Wow!!   You've really been hard at it with the Black Helicopter theme... they are looking good, and the MH-53M Pave Low V BlackOps "What-if" build is great... can't wait to see it come together!     Thank you very much for posting your work! Thumbs Up [tup]

Take care,

Frank

Thanks, I can't wait to do the ECHO version because it's going to be based on the Academy CH-53, that one I think I'm going to take my time on though. I've been trying to come up with a design for the IR supressors for that 3-engined beast.

Now for the other choppers, please keep in mind that these are intended to be fictional so I threw accuracy out the window.

A pair of MH/AH-6 Little Birds and an attack variant of the HH-65/Z-9G. The mast mounted sight on the HH-65 is the FLIR turret from the Academy CH-53,

Another angle, in retrospect, I wish I had been more patient on the build-up of the HH-65...

My 95% complete doorless medium transport version of the HH-65 with .50 cals swiped from the Cobra Co. Pave Low weapons kits mounted on either side. The FLIR unit was swiped from the Z-9G because I swapped the Z-9's cockpit site with the mast site from the one of the MH-6's.

More pics to come. Let me know what ya'll think and feel free to ask any questions.

Later,
The names Pat by the way..aka ZenDigital on the ARC forums

I figured it was due time I made a introductory post and what better way to do it than with a project I'm working on. Well, more like a one-man "What-if?" theme build. It's based on the "Black" helicopters of conspiracy theory lore but with my own added twist. It's all based on a novel my father started writing since he retired from government service, so I may eventually add some sort of graphic synopsis when it's completed. Along with the current build I'll add some pics of the choppers part of my BlackOps theme build..

In alot of the pics, you'll notice that all the rivet details have been sanded away, that was intentional. I'm going for a smoothed out composite, "stealthy" look as though the Pave Low were re-engineered with a monocoque airframe. So with no further ado, I present, for your consideration...(Xposted  from ARC)

The landing gear is retractable...

Landing gear up....

.....landing gear down!

Here's the somewhat detailed interior, not the most accurate but I didn't have much to work with paint wise.
I don't know if you can see it, but I hand painted a map onto the GPS display in the cockpit.

You might note the strange exhausts on the engines, those are the IR/noise supressors I decided to scratch build using the intake of the "G" model ch-53, some rotary sanding heads, and a bit of putty.

Here's a closeup of the supressored engine mounted on the air frame.

Here's my rear arial gunner..

Modified fuel tanks from Cobra Co., I grafted the rear ends and front mounts from the Revell kit onto them.

And a final look at everything else.
