, i made a mistake thinking that the coast guar flew the seahawk but in reality(according to the uscg website )they fly the jay hawk,witch to me looks like a much easier build.but i'm sure will have it's challenges

Actually, the USCG HH-60J Jayhawk is closer to a Navy SH-60B than an MH-60G/L or UH-60A/L, as the Academy kits represent. It will require basically all the conversions that Colin made and then a new nose rebuild as well.  A Navy MH-60S would still be the easiest conversion.  Good luck.

I didn't realize that until you pointed it out... They are, aren't they. Hmm... Maybe an excuse for an HSC-21 model.

Prowannab,

Following the link above and it's my SH60B Seahawk in 1/35.  I have explained some of the exterior mods required from the Academy original and am happy to answer any questions you have.  It is a MAJOR conversion job, however, and does take a lot of time.  The cockpit in the 60B I modelled did not have a glass cockpit - just the old analogue dials.

The modeler who converted it answered in the forum post above, and seemed quite helpful in discussing how he converted it, all from scratch.  Worth a shot and the photos are absolutely stunning. 1/35 SH-60 in all it's glory.

I've seen it done once in 1/48 scale by one of the best modelers in the country. It would take an enoormous amout of work starting with moving the tailwheel forward then adding a lot of radar and ASW bulges.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

i want to know if anyone knows the difference between the above mentioned because i have a great idea for a diorama,but i'm not that helo savy.i seen one in 1/35 that would be perfect but i'd like to know if i have to change anything thanks for all your help
