Dennis,

Thanks!

Yes, decals were ALPS printed by Fireball Model Works.  The owner is a real nice guy!
Once you know the limitations of artwork and size, they work great.  The artwrok was done w/ Corel Draw.  You can't go wrong.

The green was from the standard Testors Metalic green from the "can" that you find at your local Drug Mart or Micheals.  Well, that's were I can find it.  I primered w/ Testors Model Master "can", base of Testors standard gold "can" with the green.  Yes, I said can.  I don't have a double action airbrush yet.  So you can with can.

Cheers,

Hi John, that's looking really good!

What color/paint did you use for that green? Are those ALPS printed decals?

Hey Gang!

Finally, some decal and colors!.  O.k, o.k., so you notice there's no N#.   I gotta have a reprint done on my next batch of decals.  I missed scaled it. (too small) .
-Decals are all custom designed by me and printed by Fireball.
-The wire strikes were all fabed from styrene sheet and round stock.
-Antenna from styrene rod.
-Vertical stablisers from styrene sheet
-Bottom of Fenestron tail from 10# balsa core.
-External Oxygens were made from 10# balsa core, patched w/ Squdron putty & sealed w/ brush on CA.  Lock-Tite brand.  Future external oxygens will be vac-formed.  They both work very well.

THE CURVE.  I learned that when having custom decals printed, when you have a very large, solid colored area, there are many printing imperfections that do not appear until the decal is applied.  Dowh!
Next time, I'll base paint the white banner design and leave the decaling for the logos and lettering.
Next is having to use a lot of Micro-Sol to get the large decal to fit all the detailed rivets and other raised detailing.  There's a lot on the EC-135 which requires a lot of micro-sol applications.  A lot!
Otherwise, it works and looks great.  When you've been away for about 14 years as I have.  You do get rusty and you do have to start all over again.

And now the pictures folks!

Cheers!
