Modeling an Australian Army Blackhawk

This is a suggestion from David Edwards who posted over at the Aussie Modeller International site a while ago:

 "I've not been able to find an out of the tin match, but the Modelmaster US WW2 interior green looks close. Ditto Humbrol 150 which is I think Forest Green.

From what I can tell, the only additions needed to a standard UH-60L is the step bar below the troop doors, square folding tail plane, towel rack antenna, and a few other different antenni. 

 Hawkeye Models does a couple great sets of Aussie UH-60 decals too.  They are listed by its civilian model name, S-70-B9.  The Academy 1/35 MH-60G would be a good starting point.  It already comes with the towel bar antenna and folding tail plane in the kit.

The colors look like Testors Model Master Forest Green, Dark Tan, and Flat Black to me. 

That lighter colour looks like Desert Pink (RAF Gulf War colours) which is Humbrol 250

Thanks, FS#s would be great.  The US uses the M240 as doorguns too, Academy's kits are a little dated in that area.

The colors are FS30219, FS34082, and FS37038. The S-70A-9 is similar to late UH-60A's with the most notable external differences being the cabin steps, towel rack antenna, and three-piece stab as noted earlier. The ADF also utilizes an alternate cabin seating arrangement where the six centrally located troop seats are replace by six (3 per side) that run down the center of the cabin.

mmm, The blackhawks and SAS don't have a good record together, a little while back they lost eighteen men in a single crash.

Just found this thread, as I'm looking at doing an Australian Army Blackhawk.

Can anyone recommend a good base model to start with.  I've read some good reviews about the Italeri kits, and was looking at the "UH-60/MH-60 BLACK HAWK Night Raid" Kit.

I like to model in 1/48 as space is prohibitive, and I have started an aircraft collection in 1/48.

Would this kit be a good start for an Australian Army Blackhawk?
