It is not a VH-60. It is the old Minicraft UH-60 mold with new presidential decals, as is the Medical Evacuation version. (old mold with new decals) I purchased them both, saw what they were, returned them both, sent Minicraft an e-mail.

I was really P***ed off when we opened the box at my LHS. I am in the process of converting an Academy 1/35 to a Lima Medical Suite. Should have known "Minicrap" would pull that. First clue should have been when the box art was not even close. Red Cross decals does not a Lima make.......

Luckily I was assigned  as the only Navy instructor to the Army when I got back from Iraq. I have all the detail I need. The Flight Medic School at Ft Rucker has a (Lima) Medical Suite simulator. Nothing like a 1:1 for comaprison.

Yes, Minicraft did respond. The response stated they were sorry I was not happy with the product and that my e-mail would be forwarded to the company president. Fat chance of that I'm sure. Even if it was forwarded he probably couldn't give a rats behind anyway.

I'm a little confused on this topic, bear with me...

A 1/48 Blackhawk is on my to-do list, and there are several threads on this and other forums stating that the Minicraft -60 is the best in 1/48 scale....

So is the current gripe about Minicraft's quality, or the fact they boxed "new" versions with changing nothing more than decals?

What versions of Minicraft's Blackhawks are still accurate/acceptable?

Thanks, Andy

Yes, the gripe is about the "new" versions of the same old kit. The kits themselves are fine, nothing negative in regards to the plastic.

Rescue Hawk is right again .,they are a great kit ,I think i have built about 7 of them. Mostly the Custom's type for custom agents. I did a civy version once ,of one which was in a Sikorsky calender(one brown and red with off white,, and one was White and blue,, ) all in all they came out nice. I really liked doing the Italeri Seahawk. That was a great kit allaround.Plenty of detail and great molding. Good luck on your projects and the best to all
