Academy 1/48 CH-53E Instruction Sheet

Send me your snail mail address, and I'll mail you my copy.  I'm almost done building mine, and I can send it to you within the next couple of days, maybe even tomorrow.  Keep in mind that I do attack my instruction sheets with slashes from sharpie markers.  It may make it slightly difficult to read.  Just use that private message/email button so your mailing address isn't posted on the web.

Email sent and Thank You very much.  I've been pulling my hair out wondering what i did with the darn thing.

Ive had a lot to keep me occupied though.  I cut out all the screening areas.  The problem with that is that it leaves a large void (even when covered by the Eduards screens as they are so fine as almost transparent).  I am having to figure out how to build the gearboxes and driveshafts.

Man, I didn't have the guts to cut the screens out.  I didn't want to scratchbuild gearboxes.  Good luck to you on that, I'm sure it'll turn out great.

hey Chris,

Cutting out the tailrotor gearbox fairing screens were a bear.  It's still not beautifull but the Eduards screen fits well and covers up the edges.  The two screens just forward of the main gearbox has a bunch of hydr "stuff" behind it, so no problem with some "fiddlies". 

Now the intermediate gearbox screens......different story there.  My strategy (haven't started this part yet) is to try and use a 1/32 R-2800 "Jug".  It's cooling fins come close to the GB, just have to do some reshaping.  This area requires a lot of bulkhead building. 

The TR gearbox, may be a shaped "Jug" also, just need some mass behind those screens.  Now a Judge with a 10 million candle power flashlight might not agree with that assessment.

Went to your site, I was looking for photos of the heater up in the forward doghouse.  Got one?

You going to post finished pics of it?  Like I said I really enjoyed your build because it came from the heart. 

My "jug" is actually from a Hellcat.  It will work well for the Intermediate but I'm still scratching my head for the TR GB.  I am also going to fold mine to save on display space.  I keep having this wild hair to open that forward doghouse, but when I contemplate that I come to my sanity again.  I "Might" open the tranny access dor, but that be a ton of "junk" also.  (Your pic is whats driving that thought....its a good one).
