Anthony,

Your best bet would probably be Ebay.  I'm about 60% done with my Revellogram Hind D and I really liked the kit.  Its cockpit isn't the best, but it is definitely passable.  If you're really looking for good detail, the Cobra Company update sets are well worth the investment.  CC also has a conversion kit to make it a Hind F with the twin 30mm cannon.

I think the kit you were looking at is a scaled down version of the Trumpeter 1:35th Mi-24, which is definitely a good kit.  Not sure at the detail level, since I haven't looked over the kit, but everything I've heard about the kit has been good.

Anthony,

I haven't seen it "up close and personal" but from the limited information I could find, this actually appears to be a MiniHobby kit, so it may be a clone or near clone of someone else's Hind. (Which may explain the low price). The blurb on the HLJ site for this item is interesting.

The only other 1/48th kit that comes to mind is the RM kit which dates back to the late 80's. This represents the "D" (early) variant  and as such has the chin turret and not the side mounted 23mm cannons (as on the "F" variant). Panel lines are raised, and curiously, though the basic engine shapes are provided, they are not visible when finished because there is no provision for opening the engine access panels.

Not sure 'bout that kit, but I can reccomend the Hag 1/72 Hind-E, its an excellent kit.

Hi,

I know Monogram do a decent Hind in 1/48, although I've never built it myself, it has some good reviews and there is quite a bit of PE stuff out there to put in it/on it. However Trumpeter are an established brand and do make a lot of Russian helicopters, and for that price what have you got to lose.

Good luck,   Rich

Hi guys, I wanted to build a Hind helicopter - I like the look and camo you can do it in.

I was looking at this kit, is it any good, I could not find ny reviews...

If it's not, could you make any suggestions?

Thanks, Anthony.
