any future 1/48 H-53 and H-47 variants?
Posted by ziggyfoos on Saturday, December 16, 2006 9:02 PM

other than Academy possibly making a MH-53 Sea Dragon kit from their E kit (will they?), is there any chance we'll see someone make any of the 2 engine H-53 variants or are we left with the old Revell kit? (and big $ for resin Pave Low conversions)

unfortunately I'm not really interested in Italeri's gunship ACH-47, but would definitely like other Chinook variants - I assume/hope they are planning on making other variants? or can a "standard" cargo CH-47 be built from the gunship boxing?

thanks

steve

You could make a stadard CH-47 from the gunship kit, but the cargo area would all have to be scrach-built at present. I would wait until next years release's are announced

Definately, Academy's CH-53E kit's fuselage parts have the mounting points for the MH-53E's sponsons molded in.  I think it's a good bet that an MH-53E will come out within the next year or two.  However, that's just speculation.
