Vertol 107 II = which CH-46?

There are a couple of photos of Carson S-58Ts on airliner.net. Aris was one I was looking at but it requires white decals and I can't easily do those. I like the Carson colors and I can easily do the decals.

Helikitnews.com   The Carson looks like fun too. No true kit available in the US. Small Aircraft Limited make conversions for S-61N and L Good starting points.  I'd also like to see any Pics you have for Carson's S-58T. I'm Working on an Aris S-58T now, as well as rebuilding 3 LACFD copters.

Ya Fire season was like that for me too!  Just plan busy.

Yeah, fire season was pretty good this year almost too good if such a thing is possible, our engine crews were starting to feel like hotshots, get home after 2 weeks and back out a week later.

Just been in a helicopter mood lately, got a Coast Guard H65, an Aircrane S-58, and a Carson S-58T on the table right now, and trying to dig up kits for a Carson S-61 and Columbia 107, might give one of Heavy lifts new CH-53's a try too. 

 I spent a couple hours making up decals the other day, the CH melded together was interesting but I finally got something that looks fairly close, at least as good as I'm going to get without an ALPS printer.

Not familiar with the site you mentioned, I'd like to see your Columbia builds.

Hi Aaronw. I see fire season was good to you.  Ya Columbia's 234 and KV-107 are nice looking.  A bear to model, I've done both!  And a 234 in 1/144th. For the windows I ended up taking the whole panel out and adding a clear strip for the whole row of windows.  I also added a lot of internal framing as they tended to leave the rear ramp and the over head door on the ground in Oregon.  Decals will be Fun too. I used my printer come up with company title, the logo was letters melded togather.  I'll check my e-mail here and you can drop me a line. also. the model in on the hkn site in the gallery.

I worked for Columbia for a while, and they were just about doing that...When one of the birds came in for refurb it was taken down about as far as a helicopter can be without starting completely over and having to call it "new".

The have some very talented people working for them and if I had been younger when I started with them, I probably would have stayed longer. Changing forward transmissions on Boeing 234s out in the boonies and chasing aircraft around in the woods was too much like being in the Army.

As I've been researching this though, I've pretty well convinced myself the CH-46D is my best bet. Fujimi has the only 107 II kit I've found and the rear landing gear set up looks different, its of a Japanese aircraft so maybe they have a different set up.

Just a little bit of trivia I found while trying to figure this out, Columbia is now Type certified for the 107 and 234 so they can build new ones.

As far as I know and according to my exhausting 5 min of research, if it is a 107 series it has landing gear sponsons.  Here is a link to the only current operator of the 107 that I could find.  BTW, if you havent seen the hoverbarge photo they have in their gallery you have to check it out, Chinook fans will get a kick out of it.

the Hobbycraft CH113 Labrador has all the parts for the Marine 46 D/E plus decals. I've just got hold of the Fujimi kit and you can't make a Marine model from it. It looks like they're the same moulds but with different parts, although it has the armour plating piece around the engines but not the correct wheel bits on the back.
