Here's a link to picks of a jungle penetrator of Vietnam vintage.

Send me a private message and I'll send you a photo of one used in 1991 by the Air Force Special Operations Command MH-53's. I can't figure out how to post photos in this forum.

I believe the penetrator has probably changed a bit in the 40 odd years since the HH-43 used it. You'll have to check photos of the period to be sure.

Good point, guess I will still have to dig up some photos. At least even if the modern ones have changed it will give me a starting point.

Yes, if you run across the other I would appreciate it.

I'll keep an eye out for that MH-60G, a quick check on Google says it is used for CSAR among other missions, I might get one to go with the HH-43 which was doing CSAR before the term existed, sort of a then and now theme.

Thanks

Academy's 1/35 MH-60G Pavehawk and AH-60L DAP both come with a jungle penetrator.
I have both kits, but already sent someone one penetrator. Should I still have the other one I can send it to you.

Hello Aaronw,

A while back I printed a..model review..,from Peter Marshall, on Rvl's /48 H-53 updated to an MH-53J.  P. Marshall stated he "converted a soviet rocket pack into the bright orange jungle penetrating hook". I'm sorry I cannot remember nor is it printed what site it actually came from. Hopefully this info and your scratchbuilding can fill in the blanks.

I'm wondering if there are any kits in 1/32 or 1/35 that include a jungle penetrator or other rescue seat that might be modified into one. I'm going to be building an HH-43 but there is no rescue seat or even a sling for the winch. I have the Cobra Company detail kit but it doesn't include one either.

If there is no kit a link to good set of photos or drawings would at least help, maybe I can scratch build a reasonable copy.

Thanks
