Any 1:48 Hind D kit recommendations?
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, February 3, 2007 11:38 AM
Well, I'm thinking of building an 1:48 Hind D, and I'm between the Trumpeter and Revell kits (mostly because they're the only ones available here in Chile). Still, I can't find information about those models, so I'm not sure which one would be better (both are about the same price, so I would go for the most accurate and detailed). Any recommendations about this? And are there any better kits for this variant (for shopping online)?

Rincewind,

I've got the Revellogram Hind building right now and I will say, while not 100% accurate, it is definitely a fun kit and goes together well. I'm doing mine as a Polish bird from the 49th Assault Helicopter Squadron as it appeared in Iraq in 2005.

I say go Revellogram, just because it is considerably cheaper than the Trumpeter kit!

Revelogram is still the best kit on the market for 1/48 Hind. Other kits are much worse

the Trumpter is just flat HUGE!!!! too huge to haul around to contests all over like I do. I have a couple of the revellograms and using the cobra company update sets (especially the cockpit, wow!) as well as the exterior update sets.

Trumpeter also made a 1/48 version.  It was rumored/suspected to be a poor copy of the Revellogram kit.  It is no longer listed on the website though.  The 1/35 kit is really nice though.

Ok, then the Revell kit is the way to go. Thanks everyone for your recommendations.
