I had problems with the clear nose enclosure. There were considerable gaps at the bottom of the forward end where the clear part meets the bottom of the fuselage. When I got to that point, I put it aside and started on the Italeri kit which has a much better fit and much more detail. For me, the Hobbycraft kit was a waste of money... |

I have pieced the big pieces together and I can see that the nose isn't going to have the best fit but I think that it shouldn't be too much trouble to make it look O.K. The cockpit does leave alot of room for improvement and I think that just a few extra bits here and there will make a big difference. I will have to do a little something so that it won't look bare through the cabin doors and the engine access holes. I was surprised to see more that a basic, generic rotor head on this kit. Maybe a few simple additions here would make a big difference as well.
The panel lines are there but not consistent, some are barely but at least none are over done. The molds were not properly indexed so there is going to be some extra clean-up and shimming required. The clear parts, while having the correct shape are flawed and do not allow for a clear view of the interrior. This will help to cover up the lack of detail but would look better overall if they were a little clearer.
My only real gripe so far is with the instructions. Some parts are poorly represented and the placement of many is vague. I can see that even a few pictures are going to help alot on this one,
It is going to be more work than I had hoped but for $5, I can exercise my skills and not be out alot of $ if I botch it.
