For a C model, the best is the Academy/MRC kit in 1/35th, the old revell 1/32nd kit for a D/H, other scales(1/48th and 1/72nd) I would go with the Italeri kits, no good model of a B or C in 1/48th, just the old Monogram kit

1/35 scale gives you the most freedom to line in your switches, wiring, cable, Adel clamps and all the PE you can possibly stuff into a project. I would stock up on Detail Master AN fittings, tey work wonders on engines, just paint them with clear blue or red paint for all your AN fittings as needed. I made my Aeroflex fuel line from thier line of "radiator hose" drew the lay stripe on with a technical pen and added a strip of chrome foil at the end of the insulation for the crimp that Aeroflex uses. you will aslo find a ton of AN type goodies made for cars at HobbylinkJapan and Rainbow10.

Great info above.  I agree that 1/35 or 1/32 gives you the best options.  The Panda 1/35 Hueys are not too bad either.  They are a little heavy on the rivets and details, but are a good base to add to.  For after market upgrade sets, check out Cobra Company.  They have all sorts of upgrade sets for Hueys.  Even a set to backdate the MRC C model to a B model.  For other marking options, try Fireball Modelworks.  They have a few sets of decal options in all the popular scales.
