Need Some AH-1W Interior Advice
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 5:41 PM

After months of acquiring this and that for the 1/35 AH-1W, I'm still not sure who makes the best interior kit.  I do have the Cobra Company upgrade but would really value thoughts on Verlinden and other after market add ons, interior and exterior.  I think I have every review written over the last few years and I want to really do this one right.  Also have the photo CD on order also.

Cobra Company's is the best.  I would definitely go with them.

Ahhh yes the cockpit sets for the Whiskey Cobra. Well theres a few things that you need to know about the Verlinden and the Cobra Company sets. One is the Cobra Company set was designed as the 'NTS' or Night- Targeting System, upgrade and the Verlinden set is not. The Verlinden is all pretty much a PE update of for the factory cockpit included in the actual kit. So if you wanting to do a more recent Snake I would advise you to go with the CC set. Some things in the Verlinden set can be used for a newer Cobra just for the extra flare.

I have both sets and from my past experience with both manufacturers, Ill go with the CC set every time.  Dollar for Dollar I find the CC molds to be better, the resin less fiddly and "crumbly" and simply prefer them overall.  The Verlinden set gives you a PE fret, but I found over and over that thier PE simply does not fit well........
