Propeller problem

I build my main rotors as seperate units and never permenately attach them to my build. I will take a photo and post it later if you wish

(P.S. helo's don't have prop's, they have rotor blades)

Hi T-Rex,

 It sounds to me like you're trying to mount the "rotor blades" before the glue dries enough to support their weight.      I suggest assembling the rotor mechanism before attaching/including it to the fuselage, and set you up some kind of support jig to keep everything positioned until the glue sets.     Example:

** Wait until the glue is completely set (2 days) before handling it **

AH I see, so the trick is to instal the blades(propeller) before place on the main body of the model, it can also make the propeller move(spin) after its done, I do put stands but after the blades are on the model. Thanks for the advise.

But another problem on Helo (I think it short for helicopter) is the landing gear, can set it up right. It always falls or bens, this is a problem for me on both Helo and small scale aircrsft.

Any advise?

Same as for the rotor blades.  Hold them in position with a jig, clothes pins, clips, etc. till they are fully dried and able to hold the weight of the model.

I agree with the waiting the full cure time on the glue. I think sometimes with modelling, the hardest part is the wait on glue or paint to completely dry so that you can move to the next step.

However, i DIDN'T know that the rotor blades didn't attach permamantly to the aircraft! I've done maybe 2 or 3 rotory wings in my life, and i don't remember any of them being that way. Kinda makes me wanna try another.

And GranddadJohn, I'm really digging that AH-1T ya got there! What scale and brand is it? Now i really want one!!!

Ye3ah me too, I only wait a few minutes for the paint and glue to dry, maybe I should wait long like a few hours or maybe a day. How long do you all think?

I been work on my new Revel 1/48 Black hawk but it's not doing so good, I had to open the body to insert the seats I forgot to install, I had to cut out the body to open up the inside to set up the seat. fortunatly I manage to intall them successfuly but I cn't say its alright.

Does anyone know any way of fixing the problem?

depends on what you're glueing/painting, weather conditions, size of the painting/glueing surface, etc.

I'd recommend at least a day for cure time. I've found that modelling has alot to do with prioritizing and time management. I know we all wanna see our projects completed quickly, but it also takes alot of patience as well. Good luck with the hawk!
