Academy Apache

We're getting there slowly but surely.  They're still teaching hover fire at the schoolhouse, but running/diving fire and close combat attack have made it back into the syllabus.  Its been a long time coming.  I've found I'm definitely more accurate firing rockets on the move.  Stopping during a fight so you can fire from a hover is about the dumbest thing I think the Army's ever come up with... well... that, and maybe the fact that Longbow-rated aviators have to go through a complete AQC Course to be rated in the Alpha model... but that's a whole other story....

I would really like to see what the Apache could do if the Marines had it.  Marine attack helo doctrine and tactics are somewhat different from the Army.

Yeah, I'll second that "huh?"... The -64's an Apache, rig, sled, -64 or in the case of the D model, a Longbow.  That's about it.

I think the resin pit is a tad too wide for the Academy kit.  Haven't tried, it, but looking at the Academy Alpha I've got and comparing it to the two Hasegawa Apaches I have with AIRES cockpits, I think you can trim it to fit, but with all of that effort, it'd probably be easier to get a new Hasegawa kit....

Nope, I haven't tried it.

But as with any resin set, I'm sure that if you do enough trimming and sanding, you can get it to fit in there.
