Hi Gino,

WOW... that's certainly an impressive build, I bet you had a ball doing it! Smile [:)]   The *family* looks real good all lined up like that... thank you for the ride! Thumbs Up [tup]

Take care,

Frank

Turned out great! Fortunately the red-brown faded very well as you said.

Looking forward to your next build.

Thanks Sal.  I have the antenna mount on the tail, but broke it off during painting and forgot to reinstall it.  Thanks for reminding me. I'll repaint the chaff box squibs as well.

Looks great Gino!

The only thing I'd add is the VHF (I think) antenna on the left side of the top of the tail.  It cants/angles out a little and is actually rigid, stainless steel looking, and makes a little step down in diameter about halfway.  I believe this type of antenna is unique to our Pavehawks, as the UH-60s have more of a whip antenna back there (BTW, ours is a pain in the *** and develops cracks in the mount due to vibration and the weight of the antenna).  You can see it in your first pic and in the pic down below.  Also, out of the two countermeasure boxes on each side of the tailboom, one has flares (red squibs) and the other has chaff (white squibs).

Looking sweet though brutha!

Gino,

Very nice build and attention to detail. Where will she be flying off to or will she be stationed at Fort Quintiliani.

Thanks for posting the build, it was nice watching it "come alive".

Thanks guys.  I really enjoyed building this one.  Not sure what I will do next.  Maybe the Dragon M1A1 AIM kit or a super-detailed Bradley.  I need to get back on the ground for a while.  This is the second air domain model in a row for me.  I did the PC-6 Porter before this.

I will probably take a break from helos for a while.  I may do a USCG HH-60J or Navy HH-60H when I come back to them.  I also have plans for a couple more Army birds too, an early UH-60A with open exhausts from Grenada; and a UH-60L MedEvac with the litter stacker, ESSS wings, and external aux tanks.  We shall see...

Great job, Gino. Seeing her get built up with all the little extras was a real treat.

Whats next ?

While the rest of the crew may be in the same predicament, it's almost always the pilot's job to arrive at the crash site first.

Davis-Monthan USAF Res. HH-60G done....
Posted by HeavyArty on Saturday, March 10, 2007 6:13 PM

She is done!!!   Here is my HH-60G from the USAF Reserve out of Davis-Monthan AFB in OIF 1.  Only 4 helos carried this unique scheme.  I used the Academy 1/35 MH-60G kit, along with Cobra Company's HH/MH-60 upgrade set, and lots of scratch items.  Some of the other pieces came from fellow modelers too.  The Stokes Litter is from our own 1Mother, and the chaff/flare launchers are from our own Avus.  The decals were custom made by Trigger as well.

Here is the actual helo:

And my rendition of it:

More here.

Once she was done, she attended a family reunion.  Here is one of her and her cousin, who is in the US Army's 160th SOAR as an MH-60L DAP.

And one of the whole family, with their other cousin, who serves as a UH-60L in the 101st Airborne (Air Assualt).

As always, comments are welcome.
