Does anyone have any information about a possible release of a CH-53 in 1/35 scale sometime in the future?

Yes, some weeks ago somebody wrote in this forum the website of a company that's going to produce lot of interesting models in 1/35, including the Super Stallion, Sea Stallion, Pave Low, Sea Dragon and Sea Knight. This company says in his website that they're going to create some kits of crews for USN/USMC/USArmy/USAF helicopters, wearing modern equipment as NVG. Nearly every day I go in the page for trying to reservate one of this kit but it's imposible, if someone know how to do it...

the site is http://www.night-flight-models.net/

Hi Pedro,

I just joined the forum today. Thanks for the insight on this subject. I may pre-order at least one of these kits soon. I just need to find out more about the manufacturer.

Must have kits; 46E and 53E! I worked on both during my float time in 1993.

I am a retired Marine who worked on the CH53A/D and E model aircraft and have been looking for a large scale kit since Revell produced the 1/48th CH53D back in the 80's

Whats the word chief_owl?

Back on 23 Sep, cobrahistorian (Jon) asked a question that we're all curious to know the answer. Namely, when can we expect these products (models, aircrew) to be released. I think I can speak for most everyone on this forum that the "rough gouge" would be appreciated.
What about it Chief_Owl?
If anyone else has heard when this will be, don't be stingy...let us in on the big secret.

To the FSM Forum:

We stopped working on our H-53s due to insufficient sources on information.
It is our fault that we relied to long on unusable and most dishonest sources.
I apologize to all the interested modelers for this embarrassing delay.

At the moment the 1/35 MH-53E Sea Dragon will be the first to come due to
the fine help of an USN squadron, that will be named soon.

The Pave Low as well as the rest of the H-53s will be finished depending on
in witch order we get missing information (i.e. Pictures, drawings etc.).

For those interested in the Pave Low, please let us know when ever there is an Air Show with the MH-53M on static display. That is almost the only chance to get what we need. Please note, that AFSOC has denied help because

quote: “AFSOC will not support a commercial enterprise.”

What is no problem for the USN seems to be one for the USAF.Sleepy [|)]Sleepy [|)]Sleepy [|)]

Our crew figures will be available with the first H-53 kit.

I hope this helps.

Chief Owl,

Did you have any problems with Marine CH-53Es? I know they have static displays at major airshows, especially those on Marine Corps Air Stations.

Chief Owl,
Firstly, thanks for the reply. Are the crew members going to be available separately or will they only be offerred with the model?

As a USAF member working in the CSAR career field, I can tell you that almost every "open house" airshow near Hulbert Field in Florida will be showing a Pave Pig. You might also check the nearby air base's open house schedules like Tyndall, and even Pensacola USN Base. Mildenhall in england is another base to check.

I can attest to the high Ops Tempo right now and the strain on all AFSOC units. especially Pave Low's. Over half my unit is in either Afghanistan or Iraq and it doesn't look like it's going to end anytime soon (we fly HH-60G and HC-130N-3).
The PA folks in AFSOC have always been a little close hold on stuff like this. I think a better option might be to simply have an "aircraft spotter" get the pics you need.
I'll make you a deal, If I can take some shots of a 53M on my next TDY, then I'll be more than happy to forward them to you. That is of course if it doesn't involve me making little rocks out of big rocks down at Ft Levinworth Kansas. Just don't give up on the project!

Salbando,

The crew figures will be sold separately. There will be no sets as we have planned in the first place. Instead, you can setup your own mix of figures based on your needs. Please check out our website for more information.

If you know of any Air Show in those regions named by you, please inform us. And if you are able to provide us with any kind of help without risking a trip to Kansas that would help a lot. If possible, contact me via e-mail, so I can tell you what we need the most.

We have invested to much time in this project and even though I just cant see no more Pave Low photos, I still love this bird. So, no panic, we will not drop this project. Promise.Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]

Maybe my prayers will be answered in the near future. I just got an old -53 in 1/48 for Christmas, and found that I can get a 1/48 -46 from Squadron. Now I find out that I may be able to get those same birds in 1/35? And I've seen on Dragon's own page that it looks like their re-releasing the AH-6? My wallet will be taking a big hit soon!
