This is what can give the windshield a very faint yellow/gold tint.  Even in 1/1, it is only noticeable in certian lighting conditions.  It can sometimes surprise you when it reflects color from some nearby object and appear to be pink!

Hey David.  I very much appreciate your input.  Here, all along, I thought the plexiglass was tinted but, as it turns out, it comes from sunlight.

When I worked on A's back in the early 80s you could sometimes detect a very mild yellow tint when you looked at the windows from the side or oblique angle, much the same as the Cessna 414/421's I used to work on.  In modeling terms, it simply is not worth messing with it was so mild and unpredictable. You could only see it in particular lighting conditions and it did not appear when viewed straight on.  Upper windows are clear.  The ANG Blackhawks brought in during Hurricane Rita and Katrina that were kept overnight in our hanger had the tint faintly visible , they were straight old A models with the HIRSS added and by the seriel numbers I would swear one of them was one that I worked on at Ft. Campbell. They were straight back from Iraq so sun discoloration was sure to play a factor.

All H-60 windows are clear, to include the top ones over the pilots heads.

question about tinted windshields on UH60s

I have looked at many walkaround pics of various UH-60 versions trying to determine if their front windshields are tinted and, if so, what would be an appropriate tint for them.  I know the upper portions of most helicopter canopy areas are green.

Thanks!
