If not does 'Cobra' offer any conversion kits?

that would be a negative on the nighthawk kit in 1/48. however cobra does make a nighthawk super detail set for the academy and revell 1/48 scale blackhawk. cobra is pretty backed up as of late and it may take you awhile to fill that order. best of luck.

Thanks, I kind of thought so after all my searching. Maybe a new kit or a conversion will come out-someday.

if you are not worried about every detail, you can just get the italeri SH-60B.  then get any acadamy Blackhawk, or even the Pavehawk just make sure it has the rectangular stab and HIRSS.  use the Bravo's rotorhead since it's one of the main differances between a blackhawk and a Knighthawk.

if you need pics i got a few just let me know.

The rotor head and the blades in the Italeri SH-60B are not the Naval types. They are just pass ons' from the Army UH-60 kit. The entire control panel of the MH-60S is glass, big MFDs on it. The external ASE fixtures are more modern than those supplied in the kit. An MH-60S isn't easily done from the existing models, especially the rotorhead.

Sigh [sigh] My heart rose and sank while catching up in this thread.

I'll guess I'll sit tight for a while, collecting MH-60S images. I'm sure some one, some day will produce a complete kit or a conversion kit.

Thanks, SSgt, for the ebay reference. I'm considering it.

That kit is billed as an HH-60D Nighthawk actually. It's the same kit Academy boxes now as the MH-60G. It's basically a UH-60 kit with parts and decals to build the HH-60D demo aircraft (which was a modified UH-60A in USAF colors).

But doesn't that still leave me with the rotor head issue?

Besides I have the Cobra 60K conversion kit for my Acadamey Blackhawk to make a special-ops bird.

Hey-
But you can get a correct 1/48 scale rotor head from Cobra Co. in thier SH-60B or F sets.

Do any of the current Blackhawks have a cockpit with just MFDs? Or will that come with the M? Do any of the CC sets have a MFD instrument panel?

Building an MH-60S has been on my list of things to do for a while now.

The MH-60S glass cockpit doesn't even remotely resemble the UH-60M cockpit panel. It's a distinct to Navy requirements build. Cobra Company isn't far from an MH-60S conversion, but don't ask when, I don't discuss those things-period. Cobra Company already has every component to do an MH-60S in one or the other of the Blackhawk-Seahawk series we have. The instrument/cockpit suite is what remains to be done. NO- don't ask and don't assume when.

AND I don't do DECALS. (except for new stencils....)

actually the decals would be fairly easy....Its the rotor system! :)

I have the Navy conversion with the metal head, its sweet.
