Anyone work for Carson?
Posted by Screaminhelo on Monday, June 4, 2007 11:15 AM

Just got back from BNCOC by way of S.Ga and wanted to see if anyone knows the crew on B63.  With all of the A/C around the fire, B63 was probably the most considerate crew we came across.  The others weren't a problem mind you, it's just that the guys from Carson stood out to me.  If you know these guys, tell them thanks for me.

My hat is off to you guys out there who make a living working wild fires.  It can be a confusing and crowded environment and many, if not most, of you guys are out there by your selves.

Finally, if any of the ground guys read this, YOU GUYS ARE NUTS!!! but y'all do a fantastic job!  I just hope that I didn't get you too wet thursday.

Carson has had a contract with the Sierra National Forest the past couple of years. Last year they had 762 an S-61 flying out of the Mariposa airport (up the road from me). I took a bunch of pics last year (for a future build) and the crew was really great.

I've found most of the aircrews on wildland fires are really nice, I got pics of several K'Max's last year, Siller Bros (S-64's) & Erickson aircrane (S-64's), Rogers (mostly 212's) all were great about giving me access to get the photos I needed.

As one of those ground guys in yellow and green, we appreciate the air support. I don't even mind getting wet occasionally (unless you picked it up from a sewage pond Yuck [yuck] )

I had to work on a couple of the suction hoses for the Rogers 212 Solar tanks that had some , um, scum in them from such ponds....

It didn't come from a sewer pond, just a bucket full of muck from the bottom of the Okeefenokee.  I know there weren't any gators in it but I can't be sure about those nasty turtles.
