Jim,

I did a review for the kit on this forum a few weeks ago. Should be on page 2 or 3 of the forum. Overall, its a workable kit, but you'll have to do a lot of scratchbuilding to get a good looking, up to date Longbow. Its missing the avionics cooling vents at the rear of each avionics bay, the low airspeed sensors and nacelle-mounted position lights, and the cockpit interior is for an A model (the control panels are completely wrong). I've actually had an easier time converting a Revell 1/32 kit to an accurate D model. The decals are completely wrong too. The good points are few, but the enhanced Avionics bays are shaped correctly, at least up to the wings, and overall the shape of the helicopter is pretty good.

Scratch that, the review I did is on this page. The Kangnam and Imex kits are one and the same.

I'm in the middle of one right now. I may have just got a bad shot from the molding process but this one is going to need some serious putty just to smooth out the joints and fit around the cannon and area under the cockpit. I don't know the proper terms for the Apache features but being an intermediate skilled modeler, I was a little disappointed. The pilot and gunner figures supplied are really "toy like". Before I build the next one, I'll load up on aftermarket details. I was surfing around last night and found a few detail sets that really make the model pretty darn nice. Of course you're going to invest about $100.00 to get a model that looks that good.

Pathfinder,

Could you post the links to those aftermarket sets? I'm hoping to superdetail this next Apache as my buddy's bird (as I won't have my own for another 2 years yet!) and would like to put as much detail into it as possible.

Thanks!
