Gino,

I didn't know you were visiting Korean sites as well.  Try www.mmzone.co.kr  you probably can't read anything on it, but lots of cool pictures and works done by well known kit builders from Asia are posted on this website.  When you were in Korea, did you ever get a Korean modeling magazine called "Hobbist" ?  This ran for about 10 years, then changed the name to "NEO" and then went out of business last year due to lack of interest in this hobby.

I wasn't surfing Korean sites, just sent the link by another member.  They do have some nice models though.  I didn't see the magazine you mentioned while I was stationed there either.  Too bad it is gone.

These are pre-release box art of MRC releases coming soon. The AH-1W NTS nose will be retooled for MRC with some additional changes to reflect the NTS, no Cobra Company parts included and I was not made aware of PE for it. The UH-1C is a "Special Markings" release which will include complete markings for FOUR different UH-1C gunships, all very colorful and not previously released. The cover is a Charlie Model from the 188th AHC called "SATISFACTION". I was retained by the MRC rep to develop the markings selection and historical data for each of the four aircraft.

And box art is not always technically correct, they are just depictions.

NTS upgrades are in metal (according to the website).  I think I have posted PE by a mistake.

Gino,

I just visited the site that you linked to your original post.  It is indeed in Korean and I was able to read the forum.  Both items are manufactured by Academy and all of the upgrade parts come in Photo-Etched parts (metal).  It doesn't say whether upgrade parts are from Cobra company or other company's upgrade kits.  According to this forum, figures are included in with Huey.

I hope this helps.  Let me know if you need any more specific information and I will try to see if there are any more.

Best regards,

Charlie

The UH-1C depicted on the box is definitely not 174th AHC markings, we had large Shark Teeth wrap around the nose to the rear of the pilot's doors.

I should have recognized the Hangul characters.  Hope you can find some info on them.

I guess what I am asking is which model is this bird supposed to be.  I know that box art don't mean diddly, but I was wondering if perhaps they did the same thing Panda and Dragon did with the D/H model and gave you parts to make either one.

I don't know, the C could be Seminar since they are also a Korean company.

Gino,

The Huey on the box art is a mess.  The symmetrical stabs figured in the painting would indicate a Bravo model.  However, the bird has both a nose and roof mounted pitot.  It also has the armamant mount braces characteristic of a Charlie model. It looks like the blades as painted have a narrow chord like a Bravo.  I guess what I am asking is which model is this bird supposed to be.  I know that box art don't mean diddly, but I was wondering if perhaps they did the same thing Panda and Dragon did with the D/H model and gave you parts to make either one.  Could this be a rebox of the Seminar kit?  I know Chief Snake said they made a Bravo and a Charlie model.  I was just curious. Always interesting to see new Huey models.

Was just shown these two kits by our own 1Mother (Joe Szczygielski) recently.

They look like re-boxes of the Academy/MRC AH-1W and UH-1C Huey Gunship with new decals and possibly some new parts, the W is listed as an AH-1W NTS (Night Targeting System, some of the latest mods).  Here is the Cobra Company AH-1W NTS upgrade set.  Maybe it contains some of these parts?

They look interesting and the new decals look really nice.  The W looks like a copy of one of the options off the Two-Bobs "Whiskeys in the Mix" sheet.  The C model looks like it could be from the 174th AHC and looks nice and colorful.

Here are the pics:

Does anyone have any more info on them?  The website is all in Chinese (I think??) and I can't read a bit of it.

Here is the website they came from:
