UH-1E Panel Specific Question
Posted by Hatter50 on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 6:05 PM

Hey Guys,

I'm at it again with the UH-1E.  Thanks to all who have posted some really fine Photos.  From them and other sources I have put together a UH-1E panel in Photoshop.

Feel free to comment on this Representative panel from the mid 70s.  And Sorry about the size.  I uploaded a larger one but "Photobucket" reduced it FOR me.

My questions are:

Does anyone have any Good head on photos of the RAD ALT AN/APN-171?  I have hunted and cannot find that one.

Does anyone have a photo of the 1400 LB Fuel quantity gauge?  The one from the Cobra ia all I could find.

I can't Remember what in the heck went in that card holder.  There is a good photo in a UH-1C thread down below but blowing it up just doesnt do it.  There is already a Mag Compass Cal Card next to the Mag Comp to the right (not shown).  Blowing up that photo makes me want to think it's a compass Cal Card.  Is there one for the RMI?  My memory is very shady there.

Anyway, hoping to clear up any "Loose ends" in this panel.

Thanks for the great Threads and Discussion.

Regards

Steve

Steve,

So this is your secret project?   A virtual cockpit!  It looks great to me.  I would really like to see the Hi-res version.  Thanks for sharing!

Actually Ray, there is more to the project.......more to follow.

But.......the discussions in here got me to put this "Starter" panel together.  It's a UH-1E (with 540 rotorhead) that i flew in 1975.  What I had forgotten was HUGE!  This discussion we have been having has been great.  I "Found" most of the "Items" on my panel in Surplus on-line shops or Enthusiast Panel builder sites.  Still need that dang Helicopter Radar Altimeter.

When i get it more "together"....I'll post a larger photo of it.  Is there a better "service" than Photobucket?  They have been good to me except when i want a large item to post.

Steve,

Are the E fuel guage and radalt the same as the N?  I've got an E NATOPS and the engineering drawings for the change 7 kit.  I think they are in storage in NC - depending on the need for your project I can make it a priority to get down there and get them.

Semper Fi,

Randy

We have a BINGO on the Rad Alt!!!

Thanks for the photo Randy.  I searched high and low for that thing.  I knew if i rattled the tree, that it might eventually fall out.  Big Smile [:D]

The Fuel gauge?  Well, I guess I'll have to dig my N manual out and see.  That is a great set of component slides you have there on the N.

Drawings of the TK-2?  Yes I'm salvating but it ain't worth a special trip.  I appreciate the offer.  If you run across any photos of one.....without "stuff" in the way, I'd like to see them.  It' will be a little while before I need that though.

Randy,

I have the E NATOPS and there is only a "drawing" of the gauge there.  In the N NATOPS...it seems that they were saving printing cost that day as there is no drawing or anything on the Fuel Quantity gauge.

If you might have a photo from the "N" slide show of the Fuel Quantity Gauge I'd certainly appreciate it.  When I blow up a few grainy photos, it does look similar.

Thanks for your help Randy.

Steve
