Kris,

"Dude, won't they be too long? what about the width? is that right? the D's blades seem thinner, it might be me, but I'll check them out again when I get home.""

The F model used the D model tailboom.  As such, the rotor was 48 ft with a 21 inch chord, exactly the same as a D model.

"Do you have any information for those blades for the C from Cobra?"

It's listed as "540 rotor replacement."  Check here: http://www.cobracompany.com/72014.htm

I have multiples of every 1/72 Huey kit made.  If you want one in particular, send me a e-mail and we'll work something out.

Hi Dan

If you are looking for a nice 1/72 Cobra, I can recommend the Hasegawa. Sure, its not 100% accurate (no model is) but for someone to gain experience on helos in 1/72 scale with a nice kit and good results in the end, its a nice option, plus Hasegawa has put it out in several schemes over the years (mine is camo with a sharkmouth Big Smile [:D] ) The canopy fits rather tightly and will literall click into place.

Italari has some nice 1/72 helos, in particular the and H19 and H34 . Italari's Cobras leave a LOT to be desired, as do several of thier other machines Banged Head [banghead].

 HTH

David

Oh! just a note for everyone, this might seem like bribery, but whatever. I have a Monogram 1/48 scale UH-1 kit, I don't remember if it's a D. It's an old kit, looks complete but decals are trashed. My brother handed it to me a week ago, but I only build 1/72. It is up for grabs, but for a trade. I really really really really want to get my hands on some good VNAF decal sheets. not just national insignias but also squadron logos and tail codes too (real ones). But if you don't have those, let me know what you have in 1/72 scale 'Nam era anything. It might be on my wanted list. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Kris,

It just occured to me that you can build the Italeri 1/72 UH-1F using the 1/72 Italeri/esci UH-1D rotors without modifying them at all!  The UH-1F used the same rotor as the UH-1D.

YES IT DOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Laugh [(-D] Listen to him about the UH-1B/C/F blades being too short. He's become an expert on that particular subject. Sign - With Stupid [#wstupid] I put my Hueys on hold until I get all the parts ready to get them all right. If you want a ball-buster try Italeri's OH-13 kit. It's small and it can keep you on your toes wondering if you're going to brake or screw something up. If you can find an old MPC HH-53C (usually easy to find on Ebay). I built one about ten years ago and loved it. but I built it as a USMC CH-53. looked cool as hell, before my mom decided to dust my bookshelf and it ended up going on on a test flight. SoapBox [soapbox] Just so you know, MOC failed! Boohoo [BH] Good thing I was stationed in Germany when that happened. It took few weissens to get over it.

as a practical matter, there are more models of the Huey in 1/72 than any other single helo as far as I am aware.  However, beware the Italeri UH-1B, C and F undersized rotors!  I own about 70 Huey models in all scales, but that doesn't mean I'm biased, does it?Cool [8D]

Hi. Never modeled a helo (I usualy do armor), but my interest has definitely piqued. Can anyone recommend a good 1/72 military model? Thanks!
