1/35th Hind Question
Posted by Archangel Shooter on Saturday, August 4, 2007 3:32 PM

I just purchased the Trumpeter 1/35th Hind this morning, at $79 I just couldn't pass it up Big Smile [:D]. What I would like to know is, if anyone have built this kit did you encountered any unusual problems during the construction of it and what to watch out for?

I built mine OOB a few months after it came out.
Fitting is not an issue on this model the only problem was a seam line on the canopy. You'll have to use some TLC to remove it without damaging the whole thing.

It builds to a nice model OOB but it isn't 100% accurate, manly on the interior. There are sevreal update kits, photo etch and resin (Eduard, Part, Cobra Company and Verlinden) to improve the flaws.

The wing stubs, pylons and weapons are troublesome. They don't align well nor do the stubs fit well into the body. Fit and trim is the watch word for those.

Avus and Snake, thanks for the tips. I'm considering picking up a cockpit detail as I feel they do look so much better than the kits. Have never tried removing seams from a canopy but I do have some super fine sandpaper and will first practice it on an old part. I will most likely start on the Hind after I compleat the 1/32 Thud for the group build listed below.
