I agree with Mel.  I like to add pilots to give a sense of size to the helo.  It also adds a human element to the the machine.

I really don't see a full crew in a Huey obscuring very much detail unless you really went overboard on the interior around the pilots.  Nothing to hide with a Crew Chief and Gunner in the wells.  Put one pilot in either seat and have the pilot's door open on the other side to show off the detail on that side.  Your model, your call!

Huey crew figure question?
Posted by skypirate1 on Monday, August 6, 2007 5:42 PM

I have a little dilemma. When i first started building my huey i found out about the Dragon crew and pilots and rushed out to get some, But im leaning towards not using them as ive noticed that the more experienced modellers dont tend to add figures to their helo builds unless its a diorama. I can see how figures could hide some of the detail and would really be interested in what you guys think. I know its all down to personal preference, but do you think a model huey looks better with or without figures ??

Andy.

While the rest of the crew may be in the same predicament, it's almost always the pilot's job to arrive at the crash site first.
