Does anyone know what SH-3 model "Chink 69" was and what color it was painted?

I have Squadron/Signals publication of the H-3 Sea King , on page 8 it shows a photo of Chink 69 ,the helicopter was a SH-3A. Unfortunatly no color reference is given . However in the center page spread of the book the color side profile shows the aircraft to be overall olive-green. Again no actual color reference is given . Sorry I couldn't be of more help . Kind regards Helo 53.

I have that Squadron book; but, I've found some things in them to be wrong, so i wanted to verify with other sources before I jumped in the pool with the wrong gear. The drawings are also too vague to make a call on the paint. That is the only color shot of it I've seen all the others are B&W.

So, if anyone out there can get this information, it would be veeeeeeeery apreciated.

I've seen that Corgi has diecast 1/72 scale "toy" of Chink 69, but I don't think they actually cared to find out the actual color of the aircraft. or did they?

I think that bird was an HS-2 bird. Heres a link to the HC-9 website that has a couple of good pics of HH-3As.  The page also has a link to the HC-7 website also with a few pics.  hope this helps. I'm about to do an HH-3 belonging to HC-9 using the Hasegawa SH-3H kit in 1/48.
