HMLA-267!  I remember those guys.  Great build SSgt.  You have one heck of an airwing there, but you seem to missing a heavy lifter.  Your huey looks great.  Give it some sand to make it a CAX/WTI machine.  You're proving that Staff NCO's know all the trix.

Do you mean you made the minigun and the M-60 by your self?!

Can't speak for now, but as recently as 3 years ago, I would say that our squadron Huey complement at any one time was about half stab-bar and half SCAS. Boy, those stab-bars were so nice, because SCAS maintenance just plain old sucks!

(another tiny nitpick, but the resin AVR-2 antennas on top of the cabin roof should be an olive green/drab type of color. We never had any that were gray. I only mention it because it would be easy enough to touch up if you wanted to.)

I was thinking that they are Green, I have not seen any pics of them thanks. And the Stab bars are on the birds at the Air Show.

Hey there Ed,

There are still a ton of the old Stab Bars running around.  158's and 159's are still alive.

The link shows a west coast Stab Bar with the racks.  Just search the USMC site and you will find more.  Might not find as many shipboard though. Cowboy [C):-)]

First of all let me congratulate you on the amazing amount of detail you have on that N model. I think you did a first rate job on this model. Since you are from Miramar you have access to the N model. Are there any stabilizer bar aircraft used for armed ships? The reason I ask is Campend had a few back in the 80's but most of the N models now don't have stab bars as SCAS did away with them.  From what I have read most of the model companies don't do the rotor justice when it comes to detail.

I hope you don't take my observation as a detraction to the fine job you did. I have worked with all the N squadrons both east and west coast and have a very high regard for them.
